I have an 04 350Z. I had the battery replaced today. Got on the highway soon after. Throttled up to about 75mph and then lost about 95% throttle power. My traction control, slip, and SES lights all came on. I could only get about 1000rpm out of the motor. Then coasted to a stop and turned the car off. Restarted the car and drove away with full power but the SES light remains on. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.
I was driving my 04 g35x and it just turned off, when I coasted to a stop I tried to restart it but it just clicked , had it towed....my mechanic says the engine is seized, there were no bells and whistles telling me the oil was low or anything, the service engine soon lite was on , but he told me that was due to a faulty gas gap.....he said only about half a litre of oil came out tho....does this seem normalI was driving my 04 g35x and it just turned off, when I coasted to a stop I tried to restart it but it just clicked , had it towed....my mechanic says the engine is seized, there were no bells and whistles telling me the oil was low or anything, the service engine soon lite was on , but he told me that was due to a faulty gas gap.....he said only about half a litre of oil came out tho....does this seem normal

Ses might stand for service engine soon, did you replace the batterie? or a shop did it for you ? if it was a shop take it back to them and let them know what's happening but if you did it it has to be diagnose with the famous scan tool to se what information the computer has stored, you know like codes

Disconnect the negative battery cable for 30 minutes. Reconnect after and the code will clear. However if the problem persists, the code will come back with in 20 miles or 30 minutes.
code P0128 :say that the engine is not running normal temp.but less.how the pcm can say that . it's receiving info from coolant sensor. 2things one the coolant sensor is telling the right temp. or the thermostat don't. Change thermostat and see if it change the condition.
I have a 1999 Mercury tracer. I was driving down the highway two weeks ago and my check engine light came on. i went to autozone and he said something about misfire on bank and vacuum leak. He said it bascially was a tune up. i got in my car the next day and the light went off. it didnt come back on. Last sunday i got a tune up and a oil change. i was driving to work today when my service engine soon light came back on. could it be because its been warm here in st louis and all of a sudden its cold. or do i just need to get it reset. i hope its nothing major because im broke right now and cant afford to get it fixed
just look for the blackened/burned pin on the rear light plastic connector and sand it down to re-establish a good electrical connection and save yourself $800 big ones on replacing the multiswitch.
CHECK TURN SIGNAL FUSE.IT COULD BE BLOWED OR YOU HAVE FAULTY TURN SIGNAL SWITCH.BECAUSE BACK LIGHTS AND TAIL LIGHTS SHARE SAME CIRCUIT WITH TURN SIGNAL SWITCH.
its because the car is due for a service soon,it gives you about 800 to 1000m warning of an impending bill .....
if you did lots of stop/start motoring the "service engine soon" light would come on sooner than lots of highway motoring.
just adding oil is not servicing the engine....and once done it needs reseting...
The "service engine" light come on in about 80% of older cars quite frequently. Usually, it means nothing being related to some emissions component or similar. You can shut it of with a rented (for free,) tool at Autozone. The tool is a code-reader, and can also tell you what the specific cause is, as well as instruct the on-board computer to simply turn off the annoying light. Odds are it'll come back if you don't fix whatever trivial B.S. it is complaining about. Best advice: Unless it's something major, just live with it like everyone else. - Good Luck, John
