I think you have a separate actuator on the front diff which operates off vacuum. The vacuum can is under the battery tray and any lines leaking can cause this issue.
By any chance have you jacked up the front of the truck and set it on jack stands. And engage your 4x4 and see if your wheels turn at all. You might have a hub problem they might not be engaging on your front axle.
the most common cause is wheel speed sensor or sensor wiring not reading proper wheel speed.it is also possible the reluctor wheel inside front bearing is clogged with rust and debris and unable to send magnetic pulse. This can be tested with scanner to determine wheel in question.ohm meter can be used to test sensor and reluctor pulse.
You probably have blown drive hubs. Do you have to engage the hubs at the wheels? If not and they are automatic locking and they are probably blown or seized into the unlock position. They are not too expensive to replace with manual locking hubs (My Suggestion) but the autolocking hubs are expensive. When you take the caps off the front drive spindles and try running it again you may see the axle turning inside but not the wheel. That is the best test. Wish you luck!!
