TOD Can somebody please tell me how to use the TOD. somebody told me that the TOD light blinking was a sign of not using it properly. I heard one has to step on the breaks and put it in neutral. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

using 4wd on dry pavement. 2003 Rodeo !
part time is for dirt or ice roads only.
so are you using 4L on pavement, yes, then dont if car is part time.
post your vin or tell what 4wd system you have.
do you have TOD option?, Torque on demand.
so do post what wheels (tires) are touching, in 4L.
if in 4L. now.
we cant guess road surfaces...
if attempting PT on dry roads, stop doing so.
or you will windup the driveline and damage it.


i cant find the options list on Rodeos. seems 2wd or part time.

i think this is not an option for Rodeo. but specs are weak... IMO

if on dry pavement (no ice) the transmission will not like
using 4wd, there is no center differential and will bind up.
test it on dirt or ice, first. work now>?

using PT, system one tire must bie on a slippery surface, or it will wind up. or lockup or fail to shift,just like read jeeps do , with PT 4wd. (owned 6)

If the light blinks and then goes out while starting the vehicle, you are fine. It is a self-check for diagnostics. If the light turns on and stays on, even when not moving, then you have a system fault and need to take it to a dealership (that is, if you could find one to fix it...) If the light goes on and then goes off while driving, and you are in a low-traction environment (like heavy rain, or snow, for example) then you are fine. The computer is just telling you it is doing its Torque-On-Demand thing. As a helpful hint, might be a good idea to read your owner's manual.

If the car wont start means that is not recognizing the key, if the car start and the light keep blinking means that somebody service the car and did not close the immobilizer ecu properly.

never heard of it ,a reset button for the fuel pump yes .Try a new switch

Your ABS Computer is likely failing. They have problems with the solder joints on the circuit board, causing a code to be set and the lights to come on. Very common on this vehicle!

We have a 1998 Trooper that had the same problem. The fix was an electronic switch for the 4WD - a vacuum sensor - on the front axle that just plugs in. You can see it - if you look under the car from the front, it's mounted in the middle of the front axle. It cost $175 from the dealer. We had somebody install it for $50. Don't know where you live, but they are exposed and can corrode. That's what happened to ours. Good luck - hope it's the same problem. This was an easy fix, and we were pleased.
