1999 dodge intrepid es.just bought, previous owner had rebuilt engine puta few months ago. ABS light came on when we test drove. Took car to neighbor mechanic and he said we have to flash the system. My Daughter drove the car to visit grandparents in Palm Springs and while driving rpm went up twice then engine died. Waited a few minutes and after 2 tries the engine started and the check engine light stayed on. I am not with her, should I send her to the Dodge dealer since the engine light is still on, does the computer need to be reset since there is a rebuilt motor. Can any mechanic handle or dealer. Thanks for advice, single mom
