This is a very common problem with Trailblazers and is caused by a fault speedometer stepper motor - the actual motor that makes your needle move around is wearing out.

You have two solutions, if your Trailblazer has 70k miles or less you can take it to your local Chevy dealer and they will replace it for you as part of a recall.

If you have over 70k miles visit my Trailblazer speedometer page here: http://drspeedometer.com/services-i-offer/trailblazer-speedometer-repair

I specialize in the repair of these units and offer free shipping and a great guarantee on my work.

Where is this recall located for a 2005 Trailblazer? I've looked it up on the internet and there isn't anything listed.

My 2002 Trailblazer stalled while running, and after I pulled over, starter new would not engage and is stuck in park.

My 05 Focus speedometer is wacky. All other gauges and systems work fine. The speedometer needle doesn't go to zero when vehicle stops moving.

Sounds like the speedometer is faulty. If the speed sensor were the problem, the odometer would not work correctly, the transmission would not shift correctly, and the check engine light would be on.

How to fix a speedometer cable

Well you know it does not have a speedo cable since you replaced the speed sensor in the transmission.
My guess would be a problem with the speedo or cluster.

I have a 1997 dodge grand caravan and the speedometer is stuck on 120 mph! I was traveling and the alternater went, so I got a new one and a new battery. The car is running fine, but the speedometer and...

you may have to take a magnet and put it over the speedometer needle and move the needle back to zero, this some times happens when a battery is connected as the voltage surge causes the needle to bounce some times to far and its not able to return to zero.you may need to have the system checked for proper charging, the voltage could be borderline causing the light to come on.you can try disconnecting the battery as it may reset the light.

Speedometer just quit all other gauges seem tbe working think its a fuse?

More likely is the sensor on the transmission either failed, or the wire came loose. You can check the wire by crawling under the vehicle, looking at the transmission, and you should see a sensor with a couple of wires coming off of it. Check the connector to see if it's secure. If so, it's probably the sensor. If it's loose, put it back on and check it again. Hope this helps you out.
