Car is running hot after replacing radiator housing

Does the radiator cooling fan cycle on? Does the lower radiator coolant hose get hot or remains cool?

It would appear your thermostat is stuck in the closed position , find where it is on your engine, drain coolant and remove thermostat housing and stat, replace housing(liquid gasket OK) and coolant. now run engine, turn heater controls to hot leaving filler cap off, top up any water to max and replace cap now warm up to temp until fan comes on. if all ok replace thermostat with a new one and new gasket, you could also flush the sytem out at the same time with a hose pipe by loosening one of coolent pipes and flush radiator.

follow top radiator hose it will take you to the thermostat housing.to check thermostat when engine is hot both radiator hoses should be hot to touch if the top radiator hose going to thermostat housing is cool not hot when engine is hot. the thermostat stuck closed causing engine to over heat need to replace thermostat and radiator pressure cap.when replacing thermostat make sure to pay attention to position of thermostat so you can install new thermostat in the same position.

REPLACE UPPER RADIATOR HOSE IT IS TOO SOFT WORN OUT CAUSE HOSE TO CLASP.I WOULD REMOVE THERMOSTAT FLUSH ENGINE BLOCK AND RADIATOR COOLANT SYSTEM NEED FLUSHING OUT.

Follow the upper radiator hose from the radiator to the engine block. Where it connects to the engine is where you'll find the thermostat. It's under a housing...should be two or three bolts holding the housing down. Don't forget to replace the gasket.

There are only a couple reasons for the cooling fan running constantly. Either the temperature sensor is faulty or the car is running to hot.
In most cases it's the car running to hot. There are several possible causes for this.

• Corrosion build up in the radiator and engine water jacket.
• Incorrect radiator fluid/water ratio.
• A faulty thermostat.

The first thing that should be done is to drain the radiator and refill it with water and a radiator flush.
A good indication of corrosion in the system will be a brown color to the fluid that was first drained.
Once you have allowed enough time for the flush to do it's job. Drain it and refill with water. Run the engine for 10 more minutes and then drain it again. Now refill it using the correct radiator fluid and water ratio.
If the problem persists the next thing to do is replace the thermostat.
This is relatively simple to do and can be completed in under an hour with basic tools.
The thermostat is located on the engine where the large radiator house is attached. Undo the hose clamp and any bolts holding the thermostat housing on. Once you pull that off you will see the thermostat. Replace it, making sure to install the new one the same way the old one comes off. Now reinstall the housing and house.
If this doesn't take care of the issue you may need to seek a mechanic for help.
