If you see shavings and pins, its time to pull the transmission out and rebuilt it or a new one.

1995 lincolin continental transmission wont shift out of first gear

VSS. Vehicle speed sensor. Although Im sure its already been done but check the transmission fluid. Change it out with new fluid and a filter if you want to and when you do, look at the old fluid and see if its blackish or not pink/red. Look for metal shavings in the fluids catch pan and in the transmissions pan and in/around the filter. The small stuff 1st. Then you can rule out that and move to the bigger stuff.

Transmission slipping in 95 blazer

You could try a transm. drain and refill and replace the fluid filter while doing so. When you drop the transmission pan (after draining), check for how much metal shavings are in the pan. There should be a magnet on the pan to collect shavings. If it doesn't look like too much, you could proceed with the filter change, then replace gasket for pan and put pan back on, and refill transm. and try it. Sometimes a fluid and filter helps, sometimes not if damage is too severe.

Won't shift out of 1st gear. Is there a tranny filter are do I have major problems?

there is a filter inside the transmission, you will need to remove the lower transmission oil pan in order to get access the filter if you find any metal shavings in the oil pan the you probably have a major problem but if no shavings then try a new filter and fluid and put a qt. of transX in when you refill the transmission.

good luck

how big are the shavings? if they're any bigger than metal dust that collected on the magnet i would say there is a serious problem.

My trany wont go in revers and will not shift forward gears untill u let off the throtle a litle

Could be a need to rebuild transmission, but start with a simple transmission fluid change and filter change. If filter is plugged, could prevent the pressure build up necessary for automatic transmission to engage.

All of this assumes the fluid level is correct.

If you can do yourself, probably less than $20, closer to $100 to $150 at a shop, and they will drop the transmission pan and tell you it needs a $3000 rebuild because of grit in the pan. (all transmissions accumulate grit and fine metal shavings. There is a magnet in the bottom of the pan to attract any small shavings.)

95 ford transmission problems

Hi. I hate to say it, but if you have metal shavings in your drain pan you've got some major problems, especially if it slipping and not going into gear. The problem with not going into gear is usually the syncros being worn. I recommend taking the transmission to a transmission shop. They can look at it and some shops you can talk into just fixing the broken/damaged part instead of rebuilding the whole tranny. If you don't want to go that route you can look for a used one, but either way you will have to one or the other VERY soon if you want to keep on rolling.

Transmission wont shift into reverse

By the grayish color, fluid being thick, and metal shavings, the clutches are pretty much worn out. It's time to either rebuilding your transmission or just installing a good used one. The fluid normally should be a reddish color. The gray is from the actual clutch material going away.
