On Kia v-6 the oil pump is located behind the main crankshaft pully for the timing belt. The sump or oil pick up point is located within the oil pan at the bottom of the engine.
To replace the oil pump, the timing cover, timing belts, crank sensor and main crank pulley for timing belt must be removed. The oil pump slips over the end of the crankshaft and it has a separate oil seal that must also be replaced.
Beware that the oil pump has some spring loaded parts that must be installed in a sequence, so get a disassembly diagram and an installation instruction before starting this project.
You'll also need to remove the oil pan and make sure the sump intake is not blocked. While the pan is off, scrape out and remove any accumulated crud from both the pan and lower portion of the engine too. You'll need new oil pan gaskets.
When refilling with oil, use 5W20 full synthetic and set your oil change interval to once a year or 15,000 miles as short 3,000 mile changes no longer necessary with full synthetic oil.
Take the sump off and you will find it ,to get the sump off you will need to remove the engine
