What does the switch for the gear box do on a 1994 318i?

no problem told at all just a silly hunt. why?
P0701 range switch errors TRS????? 705? or other P07xx "??

some transmissions have internal gear pressure sensors ,yes.

• well no country told
• no year told 1995 to 2006 (2001 -6, A'/t added.
  
• no engine told of 3. all 3 are diesel

and no transmission told (ouch)4speed auto not known.
so there is no answer possible for sure tranny name real.
old cars the PRNDL switch on side of box ,look see , if there(hit wires to it lots 6?
newer cars they moved all that inside the box where you will never see it. (tell facts above and I can show it)

my best guess, google my guide is
AW30-70LE (mfg AISIN, japan)
30-40LS for the smaller engine, SEE?

buy it or rent it.
the switch is outside or inside the box on all cars made.(or)

if the gear shift linkage is on the right side of the box the old PNNDL switch is JUST there, if not there, then it is inside the box
or like my JEEP 2010 it is actually both inside the shifter brain box console and also inside the gear box.called pressure switches

It is located on the gear box check for broken cable.

Either bad earth on gear box switch Bad switch on gear box,
low in transmission fluid, worn linkage into G/Box,or check on fuses.

Gear Box Removal:

Drain the gear box oil by removing the drain plug.

Here is the input for the speedometer cable drive. If the gear box is in the frame, you will need a 10 mm wrench to loosen the bolt holding the cable. Back the bolt out until you can pull the speedometer paddle drive free.

If the gear box is on in the frame you will also need to remove the neutral switch wire with a 13 mm wrench and slotted screw driver to keep the adjustment screw from moving.

The Reverse light Switch is on the Gear box and if I am not wrong is on the right side between the gear box and the transfer box with wires on. Most common thing on Mitsubishi Shogun the reverse light switch is leaking oil and surely you will find it oil wet.

listen look under the steering wheel it should be to the left side panel its a small box color grey metal disconnect it also disconnect the battery for 15 minutes connect the battery and connect the gear box it should clear codes if not turn your switch off an on 3 times or 4 u will hear a chim sound that means u reset the gear box if that doesnt work GET YOURSEL A FING NEW GEAR BOX HAHHAAHAHAHA STRAIGHT UP DUDE

probably screwed into the gear box at the end of the reverse shift rail. Look for a switch with a wire coming from it at the level of the shift rails or at the bottom of the gear lever at the top of the box.

dear there are two type of gear box , old model reverse S.W on the middle of gear box front , another type came fix with shifting lever
shaft ,top of gear box down shifting cable , connect with small socket two wire

sounds like a hydraulic problem, if its a DP0 gear box id try a new EVM valve 1st, that is the cheepest alternitive, 9/10 times this will fix it

if you get the noise from the switch the switch is bad but if your getting it from the door you will have to remove the door panel access the gear box and pray to god the gears are not striped if they are not striped find window grease for these particular gear boxes and grease the hell out of the gear box this should relieve its tension

also if your window system is cable connected looks like a bikes brake line this will probably be fragged apart if so then you will need to purchase at dealer ship or have them replace at dealer ship the fraged cable
