I have a 1992 ford taurus, 3.0, 6 cylinder, that starts up just fine. If I drive a short distance and turn the car off the car will start up fine. but if I drive the car a little further, like 20 miles or so, the car will not start up right away. I have to wait about an hour or two before it starts up again. Then it will start up just fine again.
Sounds like a fuel pump overheating. Drive until it wont start then check the fuel pressure. If no gauge when it wont start try some starting fluid. You should also check your fuel pump relay.
Testimonial: "I didnt think about that. I was told that it was the starter since the car doesnt just die out. the problem is that it just wont re-start when heated."
Its your crank position sensor i have a 94 taurus sho that had the same problem and i didnt think it was that hard to replace took about 2 hour and i was driving .
Have a 94 Taurus that started the same way eventually got to where it would lose all power and die where ever it chose. there is no spark and therefore electrical but who knows where I am still looking. Don't bother going to the garage have done that too many time to count and it shows no codes so I suppose it is my imagination and there is nothing really wrong.
