93 Mitsubishi 3000gt overdrive problem

93 Mitsubishi 3000gt. When car shifts trys to shift into overdrive it is like shifting into neutral. If you shut off overdrive then car drives fine. Fluid is not burned. Only other prob is when it downshifts to pass it shifts down once then tries to shift again and once again feels like shifts into neutral. If you take foot off gas then trans goes back into 3rd and everything is fine. Is it possible that a shift solenoid is bad or maybe the Trans Control Unit is bad or does trans just need rebuilt?

Overdrive clutches are burnt out they can be replaced without removing the engine or gearbox. just remove the overdrive unit and take that to your friendly trans man and he can repack the clutches and away ya go like new.

42re tranny in my 93 jgc seems to be stuck in low gear. 1st & 2nd seem to be the same and won't shift automatically at all. Will not shift into overdrive. Changed throttle position sensor, new tranny

if its not shifting make sure fluids are full (I'm sure you did) im just saying is your speed sensor on trany pluged in , and your throttle return cable from trany to fuel return hooked up

How do i check my slave cylinder on a 93 mitsubishi 3000gt to see if it is bad

If its leaking fluid then it needs replacing. If you cannot see fluid dripping from it gently remove the rubber boot on the slave cylinder side as sometimes the rubber will hold the leaking fluid. If their is no fluid leaking then the slave cylinder is ok.

Okay for starters the car starts up fine and everything its just thatwhen i go to shift into drive or 1 or 2 and press on the gas it goes no where as if its in nuetral reverse does work , before all this...

first check the fluid level in the transmission,If the level is up where it needs to be check the shift lever at the transmission have someone shift it inside while you check outside to see if its actually moving the gear selector its possible its broken,if not then your transmission is bad.

92 ford explorer. runs great. replaced vaccum modulator recently. shifting from park to drive the engine revs up ( 60% of the time) and its like in neutral. then i shift back into neutral and wait till...

Sounds like the filter in the trans is plugged up. Should flush trans every 45,000 miles and replace filter and fulid. Its easier to take it in to a shop and have it done they use high pressure flush which will clean out the whole thing for about $200.

Shifting problems

never seen a dodge and autos a bit thin on the ground here in spain but i think the control you are looking for is on the side of the gearbox ,and if its like VW then its not cheap ,i repaired one by removing the offending item and drilling the rivits out then cleaning with acetone the paths on one side and rubbing a soft lead pencil on the brushes refitting a couple of nuts and bolts with instant gasket in the join and this car is still driving around a year later.
