Have 2000 Buick Lesabre custom every time car gets up to operating temp. the engine misses going down the road , also let car sit and idle and it shuts off after about 2 minutes , my code reads PO171 system to lean bank 1, changed co2 censor, mass air flow censor, plug wires, and plugs.

Codes po171 174

Here we go.... just pulled out our service ticket:

Soooo interesting, I had never looked at these before:

So on 1/10/2005 we took the Vue in, and they did the following:
date: 1/10/2005
"CUSTOMER STATES THE SES LIGHT IS ON"
CAUSE: UNKNOWN
TECH COMM: SES LIGHT IS ON. FOUND FUEL TRIM LEAN CODE P0171 & P0174. RETORQUE INTAKE VACUUM CHAMBER BOLTS AND INSTALL VACUUM CHAMBER SPRINGS PER BULLETIN02/06/01/016A

REPAIR 1: INLET AIR CONTROL VACUUM RESERVOIR - REPLACE

Then, evidently it came back on a week later:

date 1/17/2005:

LINE1: "CUSTOMER STATES THE SES LIGHT IS ON"
CAUSE: OPEN
TECH COMM: SES LIGHT IS ON.
FOUND CODE P0171 FUEL TRIM LEAN B1 CODE P0174
FOUDN MASS AIR FLOW SENSOR FAILED REPLACED MAF SENSOR

...

The problem NEVER came back..

There's my experience. Good luck!

01 gmc safari has rough idle and service soon lite is on. 155k mile. Runs smooth at highway speeds.

Have you had it scanned to find out what the code is for the SES light. It will give you a clue in to the problem. Autozone will read your codes for free.

Code p0741

Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) Stuck Off.

You may have a faulty TCC solenoid valve.

Simply means the clutch in the torque converter does not engage when you reach cruising speed and will effect overall fuel economy.
Requires workshop/dealer repair.

SES light (again!)

P0440 code is EVAP control system problem. This has to do with emissions from the carbon can, fuel tank and general leaks that come from fuel evaporation. Anywhere gas fumes can escape the systerm. This code is very common and can be caused by a simple fuel cap being loose or leaking. Check the fuel cap and reset the coputer. If the SES light comes back on there could be a problem with some of the systerm controls. ie vent valve, purge valveand canister. And /or vac leaks.
