Mazda MPV: how to raise power window manually?

I have a mazda mpv 2000.
The rear passenger window is stuck half way down.
Won't go up or down, it's not the switch.
Dealership says it's the motor and regulator.

How can i get the window back up until I have time to repair the motor/regulator?

HELP!
thanks

Hi,
I just had this problem with my driver door window. I took the door panel off and discovered that the motor was burnt out by testing with a meter.

I called around and found a motor at a junkyard for $135 dollars! I didn't bother looking at the price for a new one yet. Budget is very tight right now.

Like you I just wanted a way to get the window up until I could get around to replacing the part.

You can find out what I did with pictures here.

This is for the front driver side window. I did the same for the rear passenger side window and the steps are fairly similar.

There are few less steps to getting the panel off, but it was a little trickier to get the panel back on. (The key was to pull the bottom out and start at the front: Lower the forward part of the panel over the top of the frame first - while pushing firmly at the top of the panel).

The steps for disengaging the motor and raising the window with the motor re-engaged are almost the same. The only differences are that the motor is in a different position in the frame. It's down near the bottom of the frame - and seemingly inaccessible at first glance.

However, if you disconnect the motor from the frame and let it dangle on the regulator wires, you can pull it all the way through to the other port in the frame. That way, it turns out that, it was even easier to work with than the driver window motor.

Hope this helps.

My apologies for the bad link in my first post. Until I can figure out how to edit that, I'll have to just amend it with this additional post.

The photos of what I did can be found at thintrick.com/how-to-raise-a-power-window-manually/.

A not for free link is below. However, the library application called Overdrive is likely connected to your local library. And if you have a library card, you likely will be able to use it to reach a Chilton Library held at a public library in your state. You can see if you have access to an online version of the manual. It is possible in some states.

Four win stuck up for Mazda 2001. fuse is working

I have a 2000 Mazda MPV where the same thing just happened. Unfortunately it came back for a second, and my wife pushed one down. I took it to a glass shop, and found that the driver side power window switch was bad. It runs about $178.00 at the dealership. It takes about 2-3 days to order. Unfortunately not even the import places carry it. I did find a few used on Ebay for about $50-$70.

Where is the power steering resorvoir on a mazda mpv 1999

If this is the same as my 91 (No MPVs Show for 99) the power steering is located on the passenger side behind the alternator and its a pain to get to if you dont know where it is. Make sure you have it outside in the sun and you will see the filler dipstick. That is where the resovoir is located. Its actually right at the power steering pump location if its like my 91.

If its like the 2000 (or so) its an actual seperate resovoir on the passenger side fenderwell. Its in an obvious place so it you cant find it Im guessing your engine is inline and rear wheel drive like my older MPV and youll find it behind that alternator.

Hope this helps and lf it does dont forget to rate the solution.

Replacing neutral safety switch on 2000 mazda mpv

ALLData.com probably has the best info for your MPV. I use it for my 2000 MPV and it hasn't failed me yet. Mazda wants $250 for a shop manual and Haynes hasn't written one as of yet. My MPV right now won't come out of 2nd gear because of (I'm hoping) a bad PRNDL Range Select Switch.
