SOURCE: How do I remove the driver door panel on a 2002 Malibu?
The door panel is held on with small plastic fasteners. Go to your local auto parts store and look in the auto body section for a trim removal tool.
If you do not want to buy the tool, you can use a flat tool of some sort.
Without the tool, you will need to buy plastic fasteners to replace the ones you ruin. (you'll need a flat prying tool at least 8 inches long and 2 inches wide)
Insert your flat prying tool in between the door panel and the door frame. Carefully work your way around the door, slowly popping the panel loose. Once you have the biggest part loose, you will have to pull up on the top and remove the rubber stripping between the window and door frame. Avoid at all cost ripping the plastic fasteners out of the door panel. You want to pull them loose from the door frame. More than likely, you will ruin several of the plastic fasteners. As I mentioned before, you can buy these at the auto parts store. I suggest taking a few with you so you can match them up with the new ones.
