My volvo has a prob. where if i turn the car on it will start lets say i drive to the store come back to the car and try to turn on the car it wont i have to wait about 20 min. i have recently found out that their is a wire on the fuel rail if i take it off and then put it back on it will start mind that i haveit off for about 2-3 min..

excessive power loss due to alternator bad..take to parts store so they can check it..diode trio is bad letting power back thru the alternator..basically it wont shut off now and will kill the battery after several hours..
follow the hot line from battery to starter also their is an in-line fuse on hot line thats prob. blown just replace it thay are only like 4.00 at parts store

Ultimately, Stick to the Above Diagnosis. You have already Discovered what the Problem is. DO NOT let the Mechanic repair all this other Stuff that May Come up until after the Ignition has been Replaced. The Ignition being Replaced should solve these Problems without any added Repairs unless they are Small ones. Should not Cost you all that Much either. Please Rate My Response! Thanks!
Codes prob stored in trans control module. I would say problem is gear position sensor is faulty. It is located on the pass side of trans, next to cat. the wiring goes over top of the trans. It will need put up on lift to replace. prob a 3 hr labor job in shop.
