How do I unseize motor?

Most of the time it's nearly impossible to do. But, in the past I've had some luck with spraying a generous amount of PB Blaster into each cylinder through the spark plug hole, and letting it sit for a day or two. With the cylinders soaking I would periodically try to turn the crankshaft by hand. If that doesn't work, then your engine is scrap metal.

I have a 1991 Volvo 740 wagon. I've tried to put the back seats down flat before, but i can never quite get it to go down all the way. Is it possible? If so, how? Thanks!

You have to flip the bottom of the rear seat forward. There should be a strap to pull where the seat bottom and seat back meet. The seats will not fold all the way down with out flipping the bottom up first.

What is a step relay and where is it located? How do you test a relay

The Relays are located in front of the gear shift behind the Ash Tray. Unclip the Fuse panel and you can get to all the Relays. You need a wiring Diagram to test the Relay circuits. There is usually a diagram on the side of the relay but do not use full amperage on them when you test them.

Headlights both went out last night. High beams work if you hold the passing switch back. Parking lights work in the parking position, but not in the headlight position. All turn signals, back up, and

check your headlight fuse with the switch in the on position. easiest way I have found to rule out a relay is to simply switch it out with another relay.

MY 1991 740 Volvo Regina 4dr non turbo, has had the fuel pump and relay changed and the fuse #11 power wire is dead. Is there a fusible link and if so, can you tell me where it is located? Fuse #1 wor

Fusible links are either by the battery or down by the starter. But if everything else is working, this is not the problem You have a bad connection(pull the fuse and reinsert it or a broken wire). Most wires break close the the plugs.

Where is the coil/ignition system and how do I check it?

Follow the plug wires from the engine to where they end. That would be your coil/ignition system. Depending on how your car is built it could be coil packs, or a distrubutor. Good luck.

Timing jumped

Hmmm. Getting fuel and spark, just died. Possibilities: Crank position sensor. Sends pulses to engine computer. If it dies, so does engine. Mounted near the transmission bell housing. Check plug which appears near the passenger side firewall. Plug gets corroded. Disconnect and clean all the plug contacts in that area, Radio supressor relay. Mounted on inner fender, passenger side, above the battery. If it fails, fuel injectors die. Remove it from socket and insert a jumper wire between the two large pins (brown wire). If car starts, buy a new one. About $95 new; less on Ebay. I always carry a spare. Where do you have spark? Sometimes the high voltage lead from the coil to the distributor goes bad. Disconnect it and hold it near a ground. Do the same with a spark plug lead.

Volvo 740 1991 stall

I own a 1992 740 and have been through the stalling issue. Tried everything mentioned in other suggestions. Expensive and aggravating. Finally turned out to be the spark module. My Volvo has the Rex/Regina engine management system and the module sits on the left front fender. The wire to the distributor is very long and runs to the bottom of the distributor. As a start I would check and clean all wires leading to and from the coil module. Sometimes the high voltage lead gets dirty or corroded. Remove each connector plug (one at a time) spray a little contact cleaner, re-insert it a couple of times. Sometimes just turning the high voltage lead will clean it a little. Also check to be sure the manifold pressure module is properly connected. It has a thin vacuum hose running from the module (on the driver's side inner fender near the firewall) to the top of the intake manifold. If that hose is loose or disconnected, car will run rough and stall.
