Part of the door latch, all doors

The electrical door jamb switch is located on the latch on the inside of the door. You may be able to get it to work if you spray the latch in the door with WD40 and slam the door a few times, or work the latch open and closed using a screwdriver to trip the latch and open using the door handle. Door Ajar Warning Chime
The door ajar warning chime warns that a door is ajar. The door ajar warning chime is a single chime with a 1 second duration. The door ajar chime sounds when the driver or passenger door becomes ajar while the ignition switch is in the ON position.
The door ajar warning chime inputs are:
the problem is door ajar switch located on one of the door latches
just inside the door. what usually works is spraying wd40 or an electronic lubricant prayed liberally into the
door latch and then opening and closing the door several times. the stuck
switch is usually on the door that is the least used door like the passenger side rear.

sounds like the switch located somwhere along the door jamb is stuck in the open position. find the switches at all the doors and shoot some wd-40 into the switch. depress the switches a few times. this should help, otherwise u may need to replace the bad switch.
sounds like thats your problem,the drivers door is the one that goes bad the most,switch is located in door latch.youll have to remove door panel,and maybe latch,call a ford dealer and ask if you could buy just the switch or do you have to replace latch asm.
These have lots of problems door ajar switches, which are located on the latch itself. Without access to a scan tool to determin witch one it is you will have to unplug them one at a time to see witch one turns the light out. It is a two wire conecter at the latch, I am having trouble pulling up a wireing diag right now, I will post again later with more detail.
The door ajar switches are located inside the door they are attached to the door latch assembly, they twist in, you will need to remove the rear window glass run channel to access them, this is your problem, the switches stick and cause this problem. There is a TSBconcerning this problem as well.
There is a magnet type sensor in the door jamb and door that come together when you close the doors.You have to replace the magnet switch in the door that it is bad in. these newer model Fords are notorious for those particular switches going bad
