Fuse location I have a 2009 VW Jetta. To see whether the fuse (20a) for the power outlet was burned, I pulled another 20a fuse out of the box for comparison. I remember I pulled it out near the right end of the middle row (location #28, 29, 30 or 31), but I am not sure exactly which one, so I consult the manual. Strange enough, the manual does not list #28, 29, 30 or 31); instead, it shows that I should put a 20a into #38. However, #38 looks like a spare fuse location in my fuse box, and I am quiet sure that I did not pull the fuse from there. Please help. Thanks.

one is located over the battery, the other is located in the side of the dash.

First panel:
If you pop your hood the battery will be on your right sid in the front of the engine bay. There is a small rectangular piece on top of the battery with a lot of heavy guage red wires going to it. That is the engine bay fuse box.

Second panel:
if you open your driver side car door it's under neath a panel located inbetween the door and the dash board.

There are broken wires in the wiring harness between the frame and your driver's side door. These wires control all the windows and door locks in a 95 Jeep. Same thing happened to me. You will have to cut the rubber boot to get it off and check which wires are broken and repair them.

The Fuse number is..... drum roll..... 42 .... And you don't even have to have a dead battery for the radio to lock up. I have owned my 2002 tdi since New... and about 4 or 5 times a year radio dies. When you remove the fuse... don't immediately put it back in.... The capacitors in the radio have not fully discharged and if you put the fuse right back in.. chances are it will stay locked. I count to 15... then put the fuse back in. Close fuse door.... Operate radio normally till next lock up.... then repeat process. So you won't forget the fuse number... write #42 in the white space of your fuse location sticker that is attached to the inside of the fuse door. Hope this helps... tried to be detailed.
