The pressure will vary, You'll be approx 20 psi at an idle and 45 psi @ 2500 rpm's. If the car has a lot of miles, you can expect slightly different readings. As long as your reading, I would not worry about it. Also when the engine is cold, you'll always have a higher reading until the temp rises to normal.

If it is a 4.0 strait six cylinder this is a common problem on them.Mine was located just below the oil filter and is pretty easy to fix.Plan it on your next oil change and it is even easier to change out.Oh just so you know your 4.0 liter engines do make a little bit of noise but are pretty much bulletproof if you just do regular maintence on them.Next time you start it put your ear down by the driver side hood hinge. You will find some tapping noise there it is part of the evap system. If it had no oil pressure you would know it rite away.

That vehicle came with three different engine options for that year, there was a 2.5 liter inline 4 cylinder engine, a 4.0 liter inline 6 cylinder engine, or a 5.2 liter V-8 engine. Here are the firing order diagrams for all three engines and one of them should help you to solve your problem.

Fill the oil level on a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee,

yes you should remove the access. This will cause the engine to drown in a sense and have to fight. It is always safe to put in not enough to too much. You onlt have a certain amount of oil that can be placed in the pan before it runs up into your cylinder heads and can break the seal on the gasket. Then you would have to pay to get the cylinder head gasket replaced.
