In my 2004 Trailblazer a clicking noise starts about 1 minute after the car has been started and then the clicking continues for about 90 seconds. The clicking is audible from the inside and outside but is more pronounced on the inside around the rear passenger wheel well. The sound occurs whether the car is moving or not. What could this be?

If you have the XLT or extended wheel base, it's likely your HVAC actuator clicking which is where you're hearing the noise. It's located on the passenger side in the cargo area on the side. Pretty common to go out after the battery was disconnected for any reason.

I should guess it to be the electric fuel pump, although I thought those sounds had been eliminated by the manufacturers long ago. Perhaps you could raise the car in the air and get underneath it and see ( or I should say "hear")
That sound from the fuel pump should not mean it is bad or is going bad.
God bless your efforts.

I have a problem with my car where the build in theft system kicks on and I have to leave teh car in the on position for about 10 minutes turn it to the off position and then start it. You will see the theft light blinking and wait til it stops and disappears before trying to start it again.

SOURCE: 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. Passenger front low beam headlamp out

FACE THE VEHICLE SO THAT BATTERY IS ON YOUR RIGHT;
2.REMOVE THE BLACK PLASTIC PIECE THAT RUNS OVER RADIATOR BETWEEN HOOD LATCH AND FAN. IT IS ABOUT 53 1/2" LONG AND HOLDS THE HOOD PROP CLIP. (3 PLASTIC PUSH RETAINERS & 2 SHEET METAL SCREWS);
3.REMOVE THE GRILL ASSEMBLY UNDERNEATH THE PIECE IN STEP 2 BY PUSHING DOWN FIRMLY ON 4 RETAINER CLIPS WHICH RUN ALONG THE TOP. USE A WIDE SLOT SCREWDRIVER. PULL UP GENTLY ON GRILL ASSEMBLY. IT WILL POP OUT. THE GRILL ASSEMBLY EXTENDS UNDER EACH HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY (HA) AND IT DISPLAYS THE CHEVROLET LOGO IN THE MIDDLE. MY GRILL ASSEMBLY POPPED OUT EASILY AND ALL THE OTHER RETAINER CLIPS ON THE BOTTOM AND BENEATH AND TO THE SIDE OF HA WERE AUTOMATICALLY RELEASED WITHOUT ANY FUSS;
4.ON TOP OF HA SEE ONE TAB (ABOUT 1" LONG)ON THE RIGHT SIDE AND ONE ON THE LEFT (THE ONE ON L IS CLOSER TO THE FENDER);
5.PULLUPWARDDIRECTION ON TABS. THEY WILL SLIDE UPWARD A COUPLE OF INCHES AND WILL RELEASE THE HA WHICH YOU CAN THEN PULL OUT TOWARDS YOU;
6.AT BACK OF THE HA, REMOVE 2 ROUND RUBBER CAPS (ABOUT 4" IN DIAMETER)--ONE FOR LOW BEAM--ONE FOR HIGH. REVEAL BULBS. UNSNAP THE WIRE HARNESS FROM BULB BASE AND TURN BULB 1/4 TURN CLOCKWISE (REMEMBER YOU ARE FACING THE TRUCK)
7.REPLACE BULB(S). #9006 BULB IS GRAY-BASE, FOR HIGH BEAM ON OUTSIDE. #9005 IS BLACK-BASE, LOW BEAM TO INSIDE OF HIGH BEAM.
CHANGING HIGH AND LOW AND REASSEMBLY TOOK ABOUT HALF HOUR. GOOD LUCK. ALTERNATIVE: IF YOU ARE REPLACING THE PASSENGERSIDE HEADLIGHT JUST REMOVE THE AIR FILTER COVER AND PULL PLUG OUR FROM BEHIND HEADLIGHT AND REPLACE. BE CAREFUL HANDLING LIGHT BULB. TO CHANGE THE ONE ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE JUST REACH IN FRONT OF THE BATTERY TO ACCESS THE PLUG AND HEADLILGHT. TOOK ABOUT 5 MINUTES. ENJOY YOU TRAILBLAZER, GREAT TRUCK.

SOURCE: 2004 chevy trailblazer ext. Clicking noise coming

Did you recently replace or disconnect the battery? Common problem is for the airflow actuators to go out and make that clicking sound in the rear when the battery is changed or disconnected.

Clicking noise coming from dashboard when i first start my truck.

Mode door module.
This module controls the direction of the air flow. If the module is bad, it will continue to push the door a certain way even it can not move anymore.

Hi Eabyrd05.
It's possible that you have a Starter or Flywheel/Flex-plate issue. Your starter Bendix may not be completely disengaging from the flywheel like it should. I would take it to a mechanic that you trust and have them pull the starter and look at both the Flywheel/Flex-plate, Starter Bendix and solenoid. Hope this helps.

High pitch winding noise on cold start up.

Sounds like a constricted IAC Idle air control valve passsage. Fairly simple to fix. Remove air filter trunking all the way to the throttle body to allow access. The IAC allows air passed the throttle when closed at idle. Just on the inside of the throttle body in front of the throttle flap there is an opening in the throttle wall. This is the air inlet to the IAC; there is an outlet similar on the other side of the throttle. Use carb cleaner and cloth to shift the grime from this tubing and get it like new. Hold the throttle flap open to get at both ends of the IAC tubing. The IAC can be detached and cleaned to a shine. Reinstall the IAC and replace all air pipe ducting. Leave for about 20 minutes to allow any cleaner residue to dry out. When you restart you might experience a bit of uneven running but this will disappear very quickly as the last of the cleaner dries out

I have a 2004 Chev Trailblazer and the instrument cluster the back lights work but the instruments don't, the fuses are good, sometimes after driving it for 15 or 20 minutes and shutting it off and...

This is very common, in fact GM issued an extended warranty on the gage clusters from 2003-2005. Unfortunately the extended warranty has expired. The cluster either needs to be replaced or rebuilt. I know there are several companies that specialize in rebuilding them, but it takes 3-5 days and the vehicle is not drivable during that time and the repair is not cheap. I just checked and there is one on e-bay for $90 that may work for you. Here is the link, good luck! http://motors.shop.ebay.com/i.html?_nkw=trailblazer+gauge+cluster+&_cqr=true&_nkwusc=trailblazer+gage+cluster&_rdc=1

Hmmmm, from what u say, sounds like everything is ok, but,Bad battery can run lights, radio, but trying to start, will make clicking noise. U jumped it to start, and it did, another sign of bad battery. How are the connections at battery? Tight and clean? No corrosion? Check wire to starter also to make sure it's ok. If all connections are clean and tight, I would recommend removing the battery, take to parts store for free check to see condition of battery (low charge, or if it's shot). If u jump start it, u can also have them check the alternator too (free). U indicate dash gauge @ 14, that should be good. Battery usually has a date 'thingy' on it that u peel off #'s to indicate when battery was purchased, does yours have the 'thingy?'
