Do not put oil in this system. It uses brake fluid in the reservoir. If the system doesn't have any fluid in it, there is a leak, and both the clutch master cyl and the clutch slave should be replaced. They both were used the same amount of times, and wear evenly. When you add fluid, the clutch master cyl compresses the fluid down the line/hose into the clutch slave cyl. This depresses the clutch fork/arm and disengages the clutch disc so the input shaft into the transmission stops moving, allowing the trans to be put into gear. LOOK FOR THE FLUID LEAKING TO ISOLATE THE PROBLEM. This is a closed system, and the fluid never gets used, unless there is a leak.

You need to add hydraulic oil (DOT 3 brake fluid) and bleed the clutch line. Bleed the line just as you would a brake line. There should be a nipple you can loosen that looks just like the ones in the brake system. Simply pump 3 - 5 times hold pedal, loosen bleeder screw until fluid comes out, tighten bleeder screw, the release clutch pedal. Do this until the fluid coming out of the bleeder screw is a solid stream and the pedal feels firm (as it would during normal operation).

Either the seal is bad on the clutch slave cylinder, or the line between the master cylinder and the slave cylinder is broken ,rubbed through, or punctured. Most likely it is the slave cylinder and will need to be replaced.

Clutch getting weak

look back on the firewall on the drivers side near the brake fluid reservoir, there should be a similar but smaller looking reservoir mounted in that area. the smaller one is the clutch master reservoir.

When I try put it into gear when started it wont go but if i shut it off and put it into gear it will. Now I just recently had my clutch but my clutch cable needs changing I believe so my question is...

sounds like your clutch if not hydrolic needs a little adjustment or the syncronizer is going bad.. look for a cable when someone depresses the clutch where it attaches to the side of the tranny usually if adjustable the bolt is a 10 mm or 12 mm need usually a pair of pliars and a wrench.,..good luck;/

1997 Eagle Talon AC button switch blinks AC won't work

If the button is blinking, this means the clutch is either worn out, or the clutch is not engaging because of an electrical problem. Check the electrical connection going to the AC, does it look alright? Is there any fluid inside the connector? I would replace the AC compressor if the clutch persists to not engage.

Eagle talon

Could be:

1. Wrong fluid. Cheap, Just have it serviced with a fluid change.

2. Not enough fluid. Cheap. Go to parts store and add some according to owners manual.

3. Bad fluid. Too old or burnt. Have the fluid changed.

4. Transmission is about to go out. Very expensive.
