On a Honda built vehicle, the suspect item is usually the heat valve. Look for two hoses about 1" in diameter going toward the passenger compartment from the engine. One of them will have a valve inline usually. Another possible problem is a bad water pump, however, that will also cause a car to run hotter than usual as well.

It varies from model to model, but the two hoses would be going from some part of the engine (occasionally one goes to the radiator, but I'm pretty sure not on that car) towards the passenger compartment and going through the firewall (the metal between the engine compartment and the passenger compartment) They may came from different areas of the engine, but they will go through the firewall within a few inches of each other, usually not on the driver's side (either the middle or the passenger's side) They will be black rubber hoses between 3/4" and 1" in diameter.

Im not getting any heat blows cold air. i changed the thermastat and nothing. it was blowing out hot air in the vent setting but nothing now.

need to check your blend air door located behind the dash on the passanger side, if that checks out good then you have a blockage either in your heater core or hoses to/from the heater core.

There's no heat coming out of the vent, just cold air. What is the possible solution to this problem

possible low anti freeze, air bound heater core, defective heat blend door control servo. Start with coolant level, if o.k. check hoses feeding heater core. If the lines are both hot suspect blend door servo/control unit. If only one hose hot suspect clogged/air bound core. Special bleed procedure for engine. With engine running, check for bleeder scews at upper hose mounting, open bleeder and watch for steady stream of coolant. Be careful as coolant is hot. If this does not help, disconnect hoses frm heater core when cool and blow out core with compressed air to unclog system. I hope this helps.

Having heater problems with my 1992 acura vigor gs. I checked the therastat in boiling water and it opened . I checked the coolent fliud and it is full. need next trouble shooting step to fix heater...

You need to check the heater hoses in and out of the heater core to see if they are both hot,if not get the heater core flushed. Also check the valve in the heater that changes from hot to cold and make sure it moves.

Heater not working , air blows but does not heat up

you should check your thermostat it sounds like its not opening that would prevent you from getting heat. you can check it by taking it out and placing it in boiling water you are looking to see if it moves or not (opening or closing) this would be the part in the middle. if it dose not move then its bad. replace it with a new one.

Heater blows cold air when idle

Sounds like you may have a partially plugged heater core. You could flush this out separately, from flushing radiator & engine block. Diconnect heater hoses going to your heater core and clamp off, so not to loose coolant from engine. Now hook up separate hose to one side of heater core pipe and flush out with typical garden hose. Repeat procedure on both heater core inlets. Reconnect original heater hoses and test difference. You may have to add an additional litre of antifreeze. If this don't work i suggest changing heater core. Good luck.........Ron.
