I have a Mitsubishi Eclipse 2000 Gt. I recently been having problems with the right headlight. I thought it it went out. So i went to auto zone and bought a new bulb. But it still won't turn on. So i tried messing with it.I turn on the bright and the light works. But it only works if i have the brights on... I do not want to be driving my car with brights on. Can you help me with my issue? thanks!

Auston, I couldn't load both at the same time go to auto zone sign is (it free) and look it up

Then have a repair shop properly test the vehicle
& make the repairs

The free code read at the parts store is a waste of your time

If you want buy a cheap code reader at auto zone, but understand why you have it & study OBD2 Systems & it will only read Generic Codes & a few others,always need professional software to look at data,road test with it & more

Codes usually have nothing to do with the need to install parts

You can have codes stored,lots of them & no check light on
your dash,you can have problems & no codes, but need the scan tool & other reference material & test euipment

Did you check your fuses

have someone to hook up a diagnostic code tester , to see if the computer has picked up any problems in the system, you can have this procedure done free at auto zone.

did you change the powertrain control module with the trans?? if not thats probably where the problem lies, ive saw many people get mad and agervated just to realize they had to change the computer for trans with it..... just a thought.

check the wires to the clip on the horn they rust and then there no connection

front ones are simple you just pull the rubber boot off of it and screw it out. The ones on the back are a pain. you have to take the intake off to get to them. I would recommend a repair manual from an auto parts store.

The next thing to check is the headlight switch, use a 12 volt test light and check for power to the headlights at the switch when it is turned on.
