How to change dash light bulb 2004 dodge caravqn

probably find it is the tail light bulb ( incorrect one ) or bulb holder that is shorting out

There are bulbs in the control panel that may have burned out, or the wiring connector could be faulty.

Buy a short subscription to aldatadiy.com. They show all the fasteners for all interior trim parts, along with instructions on how to remove trim pieces.

This reads tail ,brake, plate bulbs. They all have to on and they have to be the correct bulbs. If it fits it doesn't mean its correct check #s. Also check connections, and sockets for rear lights

The odds are the one fuse is blown for the dash and the tail lights. And the wrong bulb may have been put in for the brake light. The brake light is feeding back into the tail light circuit causing the fuse to blown out.

Change out the bulbs with OEM bulbs and replace the blown fuse. That should fix the problem.

The controls for fan speed, temp and air flow are contained in a self-contained control module attached to the center dash. To get to the lights, you have to remove the center dash unit (refer to the 1st diagram for removal). Once the center dash is removed, turn it over and you will see three bulbs (you will actually see the base of the bulbs--refer to the 2nd attachment for illustration).
Simply remove the bulbs with a narrow blade, flat screwdriver. The Mopar Part Number for the bulbs is: 50138115AA. I paid about $2.25 for each bulb. Let me know if you need more info.

you need to remove the 2 nuts from under the fascia that hold the assembly in. this will give you access to the bulb

I think on those the easiest way is to remove 4 or 5 screws from entire housing with hood up, and pull it right out.

1st check the bulb, also the sensor on the transfer case selector motor that turns on the bulb may be defective, check the plug at the transfer case for water or a poor connection if the buld for the indicator checks good
