2007 Jeep Liberty - Not Starting: Our jeep will

2007 Jeep Liberty - Not Starting: Our jeep will randomly not start and when you turn the key just one click forward the oil light will stay on so we checked the oil and it was fine but added just a little and it started after about 10 minutes. After that we did not have any problems for weeks and then it did it again so we went and had the oil changed - that seemed to help for a month or so and now it is doing it again only may not start for days - and then it will start and run fine again although we are not driving it. We took it in and they told us they had no idea what was wrong and that we would have to wait until it will not start again and have it towed back to the garage because currently they have no idea what is wrong. Any suggestions??? Thanks!

SOURCE: Oil pressure light comes on after driving on highway for 10 miles

Sounds like your sending unit sensor - if it was your pump going out, your engine would be history by now. Rule of thumb, if your oil check light ever comes on, it's usually too late to remedy the problem. You have a major issue, but since you've obviousely drove it quite a bit since then and it still hasn't seized up, I'm guessing you're ok...for now. Since you took it to a shop and they said you're ok, I'm assuming they checked your level and visually checked for leaks and found nothing. Either, you've got somethijng partially blocking your pick-up tube for the pump which is in your oil pan, or a electrical issue with the sensor. I would start by having someone check the sensor out and go from there...good luck.

This totally depends on how Much "Hard Driving" that you do. Offroad, 4x4 all the Time, ETC.... If you do I would Change at every 50,000 If not Every 80,000 is OK

SOURCE: Cuts off, but will restart, then cuts off again

Likely, you have a damaged engine bearing. When there is a problem there it will turn oil pressure light on because bearings keep the pressure inside the crankshaft...It may stop as the bearing overheats and binds, then loosens up a bit allowing a re-start when it gets cooler. Battery sounding dead is likely because the engine is locking up and too difficult for starter to turn.
At this point, it is not a do-it -yourself project ...either you need a lower end rebuild or engine replacement.

SOURCE: 2003 Jeep Liberty. Changed oil, running very rough and dies.

Buy some Marvel Mystery oil from Auto Zone and add it to you engine oil. Keep an eye on your engine oil level everyday with the Marvel in there and change the engine oil every 3000 miles. Hope the Marvel will clean out the lifters for you and the rest of the sludge in the engine. Do Not Use Engine Flush!!!! There know to eat the seals and kill engine sensors.
The EGR could also be stuck with carbon build up and may need to be cleaned or replaced. Try doing this, turn your radio off and disconnect the battery for a min, turn the ignition key to the run position and re connect the battery then start the liberty. That should reset the air idle control valve
Let it idle down and then go for a test drive after it warms up. Good luck and keep me posted, while your at Auto Zone have them scan your liberty for any DTC codes. Be glad to help.

SOURCE: my 2001 jeep liberty needs water added often, like

OK, you know that you are loosing coolant somewhere. What you need to do (I can't from here) is carefully look at everything that water passes through till you find evidence of seepage. Check the ground where you park (but remember that coolant will run down and across, dripping somewhere other than exactly where the leak is) Check the chassis after sitting a few hours, under the pump pulley and head/block parting lines..rug on passenger side and heater control valve on hoses going into firewall.but definitely EVERWHERE.

2003;Jeep Liberty Sport 4x4, anti theft issues..... Copy of Key , I don't have the key fob

Start with this

If You want to reset the alarm on the Jeep Liberty then You will need to follow these steps. To begin You will want to get into the Jeep and close the doors. Now hold down the control door lock button for 30 seconds. Once You have done this insert the key into the ignition and turn it on. Once it has been turned on You will want to turn it back off, and then back to one again. This will cause the security light to start blinking. While it is doing that turn the Jeep on and the system will be reset. If You wait too long the light will stop and it will not work.

or this

To reset the Jeep Liberty alarm, press the control door-lock button on the keyless entry fob. Open the side door of the cab. Leave all doors closed for around 16 seconds before the Vehicle Security Light on the instrument cluster starts blinking quickly.

2006 jeep liberty starting issues

When it does not start, spray some starter fluid in the throttle body. Then if it starts you know you have a fuel delivery problem. Could be relay or connections.
