there is no shrader valve on the 626 u need to pull the plug on the top of the filter but your problem sounds like a main relay under dash

I cannot find a fuse for the fuel pump only a relay. Where is the fuse?

The relay is in the left rear corner or drivers rear under the hood back by the windshield.

check relays/fuses first then the pump if you know how to test it
the pump is easy to test locate any fuel line unplug it tell a friend to make a quick one key turn if squirts fuel then pump is fine
but check the pump relay first to make sure and to begin with simplest
it seems you can tell it is the pump but you don`t know where to start

Check the fuse, relay, wiring. If all ok or you are not sure try to connect two wires from the battery direct to pump and see if its working that way.
