How do you remove the passenger seat in a lexus gx470? My son spilled red fruit punch on the floor and I need to pull the seat out to clean the carpet. I'm mechanical, but worried about the electronics in the seat.
Re: How do you remove the passenger seat in a lexus...
Disconnect all the plugs connecting the power seat to the wiring loom carefully, its straight foward, then remove the 4 bolts holding the seat in.Once the seat has been removed you can clean it and maybe if you feel the need to remove the electric motors but you shouldnt need to even with a big clean they shouldnt get wet, even when a car is detailed and steam cleaned inside electric seats are fine

Fuse 26 (Radio 1) Fuse 42 (Radio 2). The most complicated Lexus of all. I was at the launch, and the first time I saw an engine with NO access, all covered up.. I love my ES330 and was at the dealership yesterday and 2 grand lighter!
You can't remove it! The antitheft system is a module that integrates the key, the locks, the ignition switch and the ECM as well as other ingress into the car. You have to fix it, not find a way around it. The system is there to stop exactly what you are trying to do. You need the Dealership or a good auto-electrician.
Check fuses on panel, then check all connectors, check for kinked or frayed wire, then lastly, the circuit board for your panel! Not an easy task as you are checking for continuity between connections. If its the circuit board on your arm rest I would suggest a junk yard for a known good operating board. Make sure they have some type of guarantee as these are expensive new! Hope this helps Interior Fuse Box Location 2003 2009 Lexus GX470 2007 Lexus GX470 4 7L V8
The video above shows how to replace blown fuses in the interior fuse box of your 2007 Lexus GX470 in addition to the fuse panel diagram location. Electrical components such as your map light, radio, heated seats, high beams, power windows all have fuses and if they suddenly stop working, chances are you have a fuse that has blown out. If your GX470 is experiencing electrical problems, you should always check the fuses first, because they are relatively easy to check and cheap to change. Some Lexuss have multiple interior fuse boxes including in the trunk - the video above will show you where the interior fuse box of your 2007 GX470 is located. If your GX470 has many options like a sunroof, navigation, heated seats, etc, the more fuses it has. Some components may have multiple fuses, so make sure you check all of the fuses that are linked to the component in question.
If you need to replace a blown fuse in your GX470, make sure you replace it with one that has the same amperage as the blown fuse. If checking and replacing the fuse for the component in question doesn't work, we recommend seeking assistance from a trusted professional mechanic. They should be able to figure out if the component needs to be replaced or if there is a short or some other problem with your GX470.

Usually when you have a traction control problem and the engine light on sounds more like a sensor issue. If you have just had the brakes replaced maybe they messed up the abs sensor which is in the wheel well area.....which could have the effect.
My Son has a 95 es300, the amp for it is located under the front passenger seat. The easiest way to access it is to remove the 4 bolts holding the seat down, and remove the seat. Takes about 5 minutes
Be there done that, but with a penny. All you can do is either get real aggressive with a hammer and long metal object as a punch or pull the seat. The seat should have 4 bolts. One at each end of each track. Ising a 1/4 in drive rachet and either a 1/2 or 9/16 socket should work. 1/4 in drive is low profile.. good luck
