These numbers are in foot pounds water pump attaching bolts=30  water pump pulley attaching bolts=20 fan clutch to fan blade bolts=17 fan assembly to drive hub nut=42 thermostat housing bolts=17

SOURCE: i need step by step instructions on removing and

1. Drain Coolant 2. Take fan clutch off 3. Take fan shroud off 4. Take the serp. belt 5. Take the brace on the A/C and Alt. bracket 6. Take the A/C compressor off the bracket (but do not recover freon) 7. Take the idler pulley off 8. Take the bracket off but leave the alt. attached to bracket 9. Pull the wiring off the temp.gauge on the intake by the tstat housing 10. Take the bypass hose clamps off by using a hose clamp pliers. 11. Take the lower radiator hose off 12. Take the bolts out of the waterpump and take the pump off with a little tap with a hammer or pry it off. 13. Clean off old gasket 14. Install in reverse

Head Torque sequence Step 1: torque to 50 Ft/Lbs Step 2: torque to 105 Ft/Lbs recheck final torque in sequence.

Torque intake manifold: Step 1: 12 inch/Lbs, (hand tight) Step 2: 72 inch/Lbs, (6) Ft/Lbs Step 3: 12 Ft/Lbs
torque intake plenum: Step 1: 24 inch/lb (hand tight) Step 2: 48 inch/lb (4) Ft/Lbs Step 3: 84 inch/lb (7) Ft/Lbs (To torque bolts, start in center using crisscross pattern)

First you need to know the diameter of the bolts and the type of thread ie 3/8 N/C or 5/16 N/F then look at the type of bolt ie plain steel or high tensile SAE grade 3, 4, or 6, once you know this go to a general purpose bolt torque chart, and derive the torque spec info.
If the water pump is cast iron use the full torque specification.
If the water pump is alloy then reduce the torque spec 10%

The 5 bolts in the rocket shaft bolts should be torqued to 17 ft.lbs. Hope this helps.

Water pump replacement procedure 2005 2500 dodge with cummins diesel

take off old water pump. clean up area on the motor real good.do this by using a scrapper and cleaning slolvent. when thats all done put hi temp silicon on the block water pump and the put gasket on silicon. let dry for like five minutes. put in on torque bolts to specs.
