If I remember correctly if you unlock the drivers door with the key from outside twice it disables the arm just like the key fob would have but only if it is a factory alarm system.

The system thinks you are trying to steal the car. The first thing a theif would probably do is disable the horn. The system has disabled your ignition to keep you from stealing the car. Do you have a car remote that you can use to disable the alarm?

When you use the key to start the car the alarm will disarm. You can now purchase replacement key fob's from Autozone. They are easy to program and cheaper than the dealer. I would recommend checking ebay as well for a replacement fob.

can you check under hood, there is a fuse box, remove fuse box lid, inside is printed names of circuits if you have an alarm circuit , remove that fuse, then check if car starts and runs, if so, alarm is disabled.

Find out the alarm manufacturer And get the solution for a reset. Or find its location and disable it for now....then try to start it you should be able to if its the alarm disabling the starting system. Is there any indication of the alarm working? a blinking? If so...I would say alarm issue....Hope I helped!

Find the alarm box (module) under the driver's side dashboard;right around feet area. You may need to remove a few panels. Find the box and disconnect the connector, then try to start it. I believe it's not cranking? Let me know anything else.

actually your car has to have keyless entry, it's part of the alarm system that is given you problems. I had a similar issue with my 87 camery, sounds like they still haven't fixed it in 96.. anyway the fix was for me to take the VIN number over to my local dealer dish out about 35 bucks and get the remote control unit for the alarm system. That also gives you keyless entry :).. So for 35 bucks it was well worth the investment.

In order to disable the alarm there should be a red or black button under the streering colum to left side. You must put the ignition in the run position, and then hold this button for thirty seconds it should disable the alrm until you repeat that procedure.
