1998 chevy s-10 blazer. 4 wheel drive does not

Is it possible the lever for linkage got whacked and is bent?

CHECK ELECTRIC MOTOR ON THE FRONT DIFF.

It's most likely the "four wheel drive actuator" This is located on the front differential housing. It's cylindrical shaped and has a large hex (about
1-1/4") and two wires coming out of it. Usually they short out and blow the fuse but, I've also seen where they just quit working and sometimes they just get slow to work. The "actuator" has a heating element in it and it warms up, some sort gas, causing it to expand thus engaging the front wheels. In cold weather it may take a minute or so for it to engage, so put in four wheel drive and wait for a bit and see what happens.

check the front dirr soliniod common problem it screws in on right side near meatball.

ok, while stopped put car in neutral, shift transfer case lever to 4high or 4 low whichever you prefer, and voila put it back in drive and your now in 4x4

Be sure that the joints on your front driveshaft are in good condition, hope this helps, good luck

check your relays first (after the fuses) and the vacuum lines if you have those for the 4 wheel drive. Hope that helps

Reset the computer by disconnecting the battery. This should solve this. nutetral is for the four lo only to engage.

Sounds like the front axle electric actuator is bad. these are mounted on the front differential housing. they are known to go bad.

1- STOP THE VEHICLE
2- MAKE SURE IS IN NEUTRAL POSITION
3- ACTIVATE 4WD (HIGH) MODE( MANUAL OR ELECTRONIC SWITCH SELECTOR
4- MOVE LEVER SHIFT TO ''D' DRIVE POSITION
IF THIS DOES NOT RESOLVE CHECK TRANSFER CASE SWITCH
