Did you change fluid and filter this is just as important as an engine oil change. also a automatic transmission has things called bands that change the gears and hold overdrive in they also need adjusting every 30,000 miles. if not they will cause your transm, ission to slip. and burn up atf fluid.

I replaced the crank position sensor on my eclipse gsx but the car still wont start it turns over n ***** but it wont start i replaced almost everything i could think of to make it start n no luck

The following are the general instructions on the start of diagnosing any electronically controlled engine or transmission problem.

The engine and the automatic transmission (transmission control is only for automatics, engine is still computer controlled no matter the transmission type) in this vehicle are computer controlled and in most cases when a fault occurs a fault code is stored in the memory of the computer control module. There are exception to this, such as the Mass Airflow Meter and fuel pressure problems. What must be done is to have all the basic testing done such as a scan of the system for fault codes as well as a check with a live data scanner tool for engine functions that are not within range of normal, a trained technician is required to know what is correct and what isn't, then based on careful diagnostics done from a factory repair manual the correct part is replaced or the wiring repaired or the computer replaced (known as the PCM), which is very rarely the problem. Other basic checks must be done as well such as mechanical problems with the engine as well as engine state of tune and mileage on the engine. The transmission can have mechanical issues as well such as no gear engagement at all or a failed pump or other pressure related problems. Also engine mechanical problems can and do cause many drive-ability related problem such as rough idle and other symptoms.

DON'T THROW PARTS AT IT, GET IT DIAGOSED BY A TRAINED TECH IN ELECTONIC ENGINE CONTROL SYSTEMS.

96 eclipse non-turbo idles way too high, disconnect MAP sensor it goes down but then idles rough

Yes by disconneting the map sensor will drop idle and make run rough, the problem is the idle air control valve or a vacuum leak, try to clean the throtlebody with an old tooth brush and some throtlebody spray cleaner if that doesnt help then try having the iac valve checked the iac valve (Idle air control valve ) if with the engine running listen for a hissing noise that will be a vacuum leak, these are the most common reasons for higher than normal idle. hope this is helpful.

97 mitsubishi eclipse transmission problems automatic 2.0

I have a 95 Eclipse and I recently had to change out my TCU........ Transmission Control Unit, This should be located directly beneath the center console. First I would have the transmission services if problem persist then proceed to changing out the TCU you can get off of ebay. As far as i know there should be 3 Computers in our cars. 1 the Electronic Control Unit located behind radio 2 Transmission Control Unit located under center console and 3 Airbag Control Unit located under hood, Hope this helps.

No spark to coil changed waterpump and timingbelt

is the motor timed right. the cam and crank sensor signals have to be in sync if your too many teeth off it wont start and engine damage could result.

After replacing a camshaft position sensor a p1390 shows up

Cam sensor fires the injectors so ignition control is not really what it does. The crankshaft sensor provides spark control, the Cam sensor provides injector pulse timing.
The actual code no it throws is much more use for us to diagnose...pls specify the Engine light code and I can be much more helpful.
Why did u change the cam sensor for an oil leak? that does not seem to be an appropriate repair.... anyhow more info=better help
