Having a problem with my Malibu Maxx electric steering. Goes out when making right turn. Restart and steering is back. Turn right and it goes out. Took to the shop and it wouldn't do it for the shop.Any suggestions?

Cgeist1 is correct. I am so frustrated as I type b/c I have a 2006 chevy malibu with the exact same problem...turn right and the electric power steering goes out. The dealership says I need the steering column replaced at around $1400. I have been hearing the clicking noise coming from the steering wheel. I just left the shop today. GM should address this and recall it b/c I have read of so many of these exact same issues. I just filed a complaint to NHTSA also. This is obviously defective on GM side.

Sounds like the power steering is going bad ,,they have a electric cloumn,youll need a new cloumn it contains the complete power steering unit,its a common gm issue
