Ford windstar limited shuts off when it wants to, HELP thank YOU.

Don't know for sure but my thought should be cheep to check out. I am thinking. I have had cars where electrical parts got over heated and stopped working. Had a car coil would get overheated and shut the car down. Had a car recently which the fan relay would over heat and the fan would quit working. After the relay cooled down the fan would work till the relay heated up again. I changed the relay and solved my problem.
My thought is if it run and stops running check the temp of your relays. for example if the fuel pump relay is a lot hotter than the other relays it might. be bad. When it shuts down just check the temp on you relays and see if any of them are a lot hotter than the others.
It shouldn't really cost anything as long as you can get out of the car and do it in a safe location.

95 ford windstar fuelmpump not pumping replaced it and still no start

Was the fuel pump new? When this much work is involved never use salvage parts. The fuel pump run function is interlocked with engine oil pressure sensor to indicate engine is running. On initial startup the fuel pump run is momentary to prime the injectors. Your problem is probably the oil pressure sensor or sending unit

My 98 ford windstar keeps dying while im driving.I know it is an electrical problem.A lot of people keep thinking its my fuel pump but i don't think it is .I drive my car only to local areas just as...

The fuel pump fuse blowing is an indication of the fuel pump wires may be shorted inside the tank.
If you drop the tank and remove the module, you may find the insulation burned off some of the pump wires.

Prob a good idea to take it in. If it is happening to your model, it may be a re occurring problem for that model and mechanics may have seen it before.

Fuel pump wont run

Power from the relay comes from the ignition switch. If you don't have power at the relay then its likely the switch.
