My 2001 Honda shimmies at low speed too

I also have a drift to the right . Someone I know said it could be a belt. I have taken it in and they checked the tire balance and gave me an alignment. But I still feel the shimmy in the car and in the steering wheel. Should they take one tire from another source and put in on each tire wheel and see if the shimmy goes away?

My vote is ply spliting. Look for out of true tire at the tread as sighted across the tread with the tire rotating..... Raise car, put on safe jack stands, and roll the tire. The trick is to observe the tread...Look across the tread to a reference point on the other side. the tire should rotate and be true.

When plies split, there is an uneven or high spot during the above test.

The drift is commonly caused by insistance to cross rotate tires, just not a good idea as pulling often occurs and then cannot be stopped.

I am an admitted addict, but put on Michelin tires and you will be totally happy. The price is seriously more than worth it. Those tires work.

I would rotate tires front to rear and see what happens. If it goes away I would suspect the tire now on the right rear after that rotation. If not, possible suspension problem like worn bushings and/or worn out tie rod end(s).

Car shimmies when braking at high speeds

these vehicles need to have the front brake rotors either machined on the vehicle with an on the car brake lathe or replaced with quality rotors. there is no other other way to get around that. if someone decides to turn them on a bench lathe, they will warp soon and you will be right back where you were when you wrote in. happy holidays

1998 Honda CR-V makes low pitched shuddering or growling noise intermittently when turning sharp right or left at very low speeds.

YOU should find that if you let off the turn a bit and not turn on hard full lock,, now do this stopped and someone sitting in the drivers seat and bonnet open and turning the steering wheel with engine running in idle
if the noise goes and the shuddering goes then its the powered steering pump is either low in fluid or airrating or if belt driven then see if belt is trying to stop on full lock and if it is then try a new belt or other wise its the pump faulty.

Have 2005 Odyssey with same shimmy at low speed

Usually if u can drive into and out of a shimmy it is tire problems, usually balance. It can happen at diffenent speeds. The "shimmy" is the tires bouncing.
