The daytime running lights on my 2003 Ford Escape flicker

The flicker usually begins about 10 minutes after starting my car. If I run the headlights and then turn them off, the problem disappears for a little while. The problem, while annoying, hasn't seemed to affect the overall performance of the electrical system. I have had the problem for about three weeks.

You may have a headlight switch going weak because it does have a circuit breaker in it.or the switch itself is heating up.or a bad ground.

2004 escape. Headlights and hazards flash for 5 minutes or so eith car running then shut off. When I turn the car off they come on again. I replaced ignition cylinder and tapped the old PATS key to the...

Vehicles equipped with the PASS-KEY or VATS anti-theft system usually require the system be reset whenever the battery is drained or replaced. Follow this procedure.
Step 1 - Attempt to start the vehicle. It will crank, but not run. The security light will be flashing on and off. Leave the key in the run/on position for exactly 10 minutes, then the security light will stay solid or go off.
Step 2 - Turn the key to the 'off' position for 10 seconds. Attempt to start the vehicle. Some vehicles will run at this point, although many will require you repeat repeat Step 1 two more times. Make sure turn the key to the 'off' position for 10 seconds before each 10 minute cycle.
Step 3 - The vehicle is now ready to relearn the proper code. Turn the key 'off' for 10 seconds and then 'crank' the vehicle. It should be running now. The security light might stay on solid for several minutes afterwards, depending on your system.

HEADLIGHTS WONT TURN OFF WITH SWITCH ON A 2002 FORD ESCAPE

Do they stay on with high and low beam? If high or low beam make a difference then you likely need a multi-function switch. If they stay on regardless of high or low beam your Daytime Running Light Module (DRL) may be faulty. It should be located on the rad support, ahead of the radiator. Once you located it, unplug it and see if your lights go out. If they do, replace the DRL. If they do not you likely need a headlight switch.

2003 ford escape the daytime running lights constantly flash until the headlights are turned on. And now the battery light is on.

The flashing could be caused by the alternator...that would explain why the battery light is on.

The lights will flicker, but once you turn the lights on they stop.Turning them back off, daytime lights flicker again.I am thinking it is the module, is it easy to get to under the dash?A mechanic told me...

also check your emegency brake, the day time running lights also are controlled by that. try pulling the e' brake pedal up with your hand or foot while pulling on the release handle for the emergency brake,it may only be in need of adjustment. thank you for choosing fixya.com
