I have had a GREAT running Roadmaster for a couple of years now. A few days ago, while at a drive-through window, it just died. I managed to struggle the engine to life again, and 150 feet later it died again, and I could not get it started. I waited 10 minutes, started it up and drove it home. I replaced the fuel filter, hoping that might fix the problem, and it ran great, stayed at a cool temp, and then when I turned it off to run into a store for 5 minutes, it wouldn't start again. An hour later, it started just fine, and got me home. I'm thinking it's a a fuel sensor, which will make me sell the thing. I can hear the pump, so I don't think that is the problem. Bad gas, an electrical problem, dirty injectors...?I've even considered that it is a faulty gas cap.... Any ideas?
Hey I have a 1993 Buick roadmaster also. Had exact same problem. It turned out to be the fuel pump. It was going bad and would work fine then cut off and then back on. Took me 6 months to figure it out. Every time I took it to the mechanic it would work just fine so I put a full tank of gas in it and told him to drive it and it died after a few days. Was a real headach. Hope this helps.
You need to have someone with a scantool check the sensors. I've had coolant temp sensors read -43F which tells the computer to dump more gas essentially flooding the engine.
