Regarding the hard-to-turn feeling with a H3 Hummer. I had the same problem with one of my Hummers. The remedy was quick and simple, but the actual fix was more involved. The remedy was to push the 2x4 button (take it out out of 4 wheel drive). The 4x4 button is very easy to touch and engage when reaching the right side of the dash (for any reason). If the engage light is burned out, there is no way to know that the vehicle is in high range 4x4, except while turning right or left, or when you notice that the 2 x4 light is not lit. The fix is to replace the switch, which is somewhat costly and labor intensive.

SOURCE: 2006 H3 Hummer AC/Heater Fan Motor

I brought my 2006 H3 in to the dealer for the same thing. My blower stopped working all together but it started as an intermittent problem. He said he had to replaced a diode or resistor either behind the switch on the dash that controls the fan or on the fan motor itself. Have not had a problem since but that was only about 4 months ago.

SOURCE: 2005 toyota sienna van power steering very hard

Most likely the problem is the lower steering knuckle. This is the one outside of the firewall, under the vehicle and it hooks up to the power steering assist cylinder. In my opinion the knuckle has to work at an unreasonably steep angle and this compounds the problem. The knuckle (especially in salt areas starts to corrode and becomes hard to turn. Toyota says the water gets into the bearing and they beings to rust the bearing and turning the whell starts to feel stiff. I have this problem and I sprayed liberal amounts of a rust inhibitor that a local place uses to rust proof cars (They sell small spray bottles of it for $5). They are called OIL TECH in Barrie, Ontario and make up their own formula. The formula has addatives that breaks the surface tension on the oil treatment and gets it into the tiny cracks and crevices on your vehicle. I sprayed this all over the knuckle, turned it back and forth a couple of times and continued spraying. I let it sit for an hour and went for a test drive -- problem solved. You could actually see the rust on the exposed parts of the knuckle. I probably will have to do this once every month of two but what the heck. It is a lot cheaper than having to replace the steering shaft ($1000+???) Probably other types of rust proofing or lubricating oils will work. I long for the old days of grease fittings and you never had to replace ball joints and tie rod ends etc.

SOURCE: 2006 hummer h3 has a leak on passenger side under

My 06 was leaking during rain also. It turned out to be the sunroof. There are two drain tubes in the front of the sunroof that run the water down the corners to the ground and two drain tubes that drain water out the back corners. The water would seep around the glass, which is expected, but both of the tubes on the front of mine were plugged, and the water would overflow behind the dash and fill my floorboards. If my H3 was leaning to the left during a storm then the drivers side would be full of water. If leaning right, then the passenger side. I had to open sunroof and blow compressed air into the drain holes to clear them, but be careful, too much air will separate tubes from sunroof and then you will have to remove the inside paneling around sunroof to get to tubes and reconnect. You may only have one side plugged. you can test it by opening sunroof and pour a little water in the small catch pan in the front of the sunroof and see if it drains as expected (to the ground under the firewall on left AND right side). You can see the holes in each corner of catch pan to drain the water. Plug one with your finger, then the other to find the plugged side. Good luck!! Hope this helps!!

Problems with hummers

There is virtually no difference between the Hummer H3 drive train and comparable GMC and Chevrolet drive trains. Although you overspent on a piece of pseudo-military jewelry, the drive train is reasonably reliable and easy to service, and parts interchange with GM truck parts.
My sole recommendation would be to use 15W-40 diesel-grade oil instead of the recommended oil and, if you haven't already done it in the last 20,000 miles, change all fluids (crankcase oil, brake fluid, transmission fluid, differential fluid, power steering fluid, engine coolant).

Hummer h3 I'l change me manuel Transmission Oil

There is a threaded plug on the bottom of the transmission that is 1/2" drive take this out and the fluid will drain, replace and on the side there is another 1/2" drive plug that you use to fill, you will fill until the fluid starts to come out this side hole. Hope that helps you.

My 06 hummer h3 shuts off when you turn the steering wheel

Try unplugging the power steering pressure sensor, It's either in the pressure line or on the back of the pump. It sends a signal to the PCM to increase the RPMs at low speed when more power from the pump is required when parking and such.

I have a 2006 Hummer 3. The power steering gets stiff and hard to turn intermittently. I have the factory recommended tires and have the truck serviced every 4000 miles.

I find it hard to believe that one of the tubes of steering oil could be blocked unless hit, so I would go for the pump. Poor oil pressure, ends up to low oil flow. However check your tubes, from and to the pump, and then, go for the pump. Sorry I can't tell you more.
