Power window doesnt work with main switch on drivers door

the service manual covers all this , get one?
USA car? no told. answering for USA only. cars, sold here.
causes, all.
when drivers window motor fails do any others fail too?
the master controls what fails there, and each other door.

1: shorts make the thermal breaker trip.Fuse CB
2: bad motor overloads the supply
3: bad switch.
4: any wire bad in the path from power to motor. bad. open or shorted.
there are 3 pages in the manual for windows power
fuse 4/15/16/17/19 . all for good not blown./
delay relay not bad. SJB logic runs said relay
if yes, a windows now have power. 12vdc to all door locks and door windows. so this must be good. or locks fail too.

widows that fail for up and down or both ? sure stuck up, pain.
ID say with such gross intermittancy, but not sure total me.
the master switch logic board is no good.
that board PIN8 is power. red/LB color
if it has 12vdc at windows fail the board is bad.
if pin 8 fails the source is bad raw power from delay relay dead.
then.
oops 1 more , test, door lockout. turn it enabled. so other doors are dead, Kids mode.
this proves other door can not cause driver door to fail ,ever.
that main board has CPU, not sure why me?
but it controls driver up/down. relay on IT.

the windows cut switch kills ground to all non drivers windows
now that is a great test feature of all. and LED status.

top right is LED, if the LED goes dead power to the board is bad
that be #1 first thing to see. see resistor top right it is LED cut off...

Check inside of door where wiring comes thru for broken wires ,ECU doesn't control windows or door locks. You didn't state what model vehicle you own. But opening and closing door on drivers side causes broken wires on numerous vehicles over the years, most makes and models. Split boot and check all wires inside for breakage.

extended warranty will not cover the master switch on driver door. befor replaceing it take the door panel off and their is a set nut on the pottom of the switch that comes lose allowing the connect to disconect try just tightning down the nut in most cases this will fix it, all the outher switches are juamper switches that all runn off the driver door as the main.

Have you tried replacing the master window switch? Just because the other windows work doesnt mean that switch for that window is good.

The main switch is controled by the drivers door main unit.....i had to use a forward force on my windows switch for it to work....so replaced the whole unit, you could find those on ebay cheap if local auto parts is expensive

Probably bad master window switch in driver front door. Your description is vaque. If driver front door switch doesnt operate the other windows, but they all work from each of their switches, than start with the driver front door master switch. May be worth your time to check wiring in door jam before buying the switch.

First remove the paneling (of the door) apply electricity to the motor, it doesnt matter to witch side as they both will carry power from one time to another, if that works, try checking the main switch on the driver side door, if you can get a friend to loan you his while you check or you might have to buy one. Its either the main switch or the passengers side switch if the window goes up when direct juice is applied to it.

check all fuses and relays first if good check main controll switch on driver door remove passenger door cover remove plug to window switch get a test lite check to see if you have power to pass door window switch have friend move passenger window up and down from main switch on driver door while you check for power on pass window switch plug.if you have no power the main switch on driver could be bad. good luck j.f

it may be your switch , if driver window , take the switch from another window and see if it works, if so, repalce the switch , if not driver window try the window from mail panel as well as the door it is on, if it doesnt work from either button , it is probably your window motor or regulator .If it works from the main driver console but not from the door itself, it is switch.

It was very srange, but all the contacts inside the switches of the main power window console (mounted in driver's door) were covered with soot.
I have disassembled the switch and cleaned the contacts. All functions well now.
The problem occured on a car that is used very rarely, that was most probably the reason of the sudden failure of the system.
Replacement of the main power windows switch would do the same but I have saved the expense this time. Hope the repair will last until I will sell the car.
