Do not know which wires go where on a 99 chevy cavalier starter

your local parts recycler (junk yard) can tell you what fits..

The small purple wire goes on one of the small posts, all of the wires with large ends goes on the center post with the cable from the battery.

you have to find out the battery voltage when you crank it. Battery or starter problem.Need more info

I think there is a YouTube video on replacing a GM starter.
The wires with large eyelets go on the large center post, and the small wire goes on the post marked S.

You need to make sure the solenoid wire isn't making contact with the starter wire. Be sure you don't have the purple wire making contact with the red wire.

Probably not available online. You could check your local junkyard if there is a car with a connected starter.

i have a 97 cavalier and i have 5 wires that connect to the starter but i dont know where 1 of them goes

The fuel pump as a gage sender that monitors the gage in the dash. I would replace the fuel pump .
