I have an 01 Nissan Sentra. Its runs great. However I went out to go to the store and the car would not start. It turned over then turned off one time. After that, it keeps acting like it wants to start but never does. Battery is good. It has gas. It isn't the starter, nor the ignition switch, nor the fuel pump or alternator. It's not getting fire/spark. We have changed spark plugs and distributor cap. We have even changed the crankshaft positioning sensor, its still not getting spark... please help!! Single mom here!

I would check the pickup in the bottom of the distributor if you have verified that it does not have spark.

Any suggestions?

It is most probably the crancase ventilator gizmo. Go to the Jeep dealer or other reputable mechanic to repair. I did and it cured the problem. It cost me about $120 and it was well worth it.

SOURCE: Car will not start.Engine turns over but spark plugs willnot fire

I would say replace ignition coil, that might me the problem, otherwise it can be the ecu, which might have some electrical problems not allowing the car to stay running. Good luck.

01 nissan sentra it starts but has no power and has a real badfuel knock what can it be.

Sounds like the timing has jumped a tooth or two. Be careful running the engine since the valves can be bent beyond repair.

Go over it, check the air filter, fuel filter, make sure your key isn`t bent. bent keys off set the chip and the car cant read it. next time take out the key and turn it around and try it again. let me know.
