Likely a bad or stuck sending unit inside the tank
The sending unit is on the fuel pump and could be stuck in the full position. There is no separate fuse for the gas gauge. I think you will need to check the wiring from the fuel pump where you can for breaks, cracks in the insulation and also, check the ground. If that looks ok, pull the fuel pump.

there is one fuse for all the dash gauges, so chances are you have a wiring problem to the gauge sender on the engine or the gauge is defective, which is rare.

Usually if the gas gage does not work yes it is true it may be the sensor if it is electronicly controlled. the sncor will more than likley be in the tank. here is how to remove your gas tank.

sounds like your missing a ground somewhere.

You're either looking at a short in the wire that goes to the fuel sender, or a bad fuel sender. If it was just a broken wire, it would read empty instead. The fuel sender is a permanent part of the fuel pump, so that has to be replaced as a unit.
