SOURCE: my brake lights don't work on my 95 dodge neon
I don-t know car tech terms... But get down where the brake pedal is and you will see where the pedal hits a little switch to make the brake lights come on and go off. Get a friend to look at your brake lights while you push the switch to see if it turns on and off, if not.. It-s probably has something to do with that little switch box...

looking at your schematics and , you say tail lights don't work , you didn't mention if front parking lights and license plate lights are working , they all come from the same source , a black /yellow wire , a good clue if front work and rear don't , please advise .if fronts work then you have a open circuit somewhere between junction S118 (near breakout for left headlamp) and rear sockets.

I have the answer!
There are two clips that the cluster connects to. Those two clips have become worn. There are two ways to resolve this. 1. replace the clips. 2. (what I did) took a sparkplug box and cut it in 4 strips long wise and folded them in half. I then inserted those strips between the dash and the clip. This pushes clip forward and creates a stable connection.

Disconnect electrical connector to brake switch brake located near brake pedal. Check for twelve volts or power with a test light on one side. If power, get a piece of wire, strip the ends and plug into each end of connector. If brake lights works, switch is bad. If not, check bulbs and power in the brake light socket. If no power, check to make sure power is leaving the trafficator switch as the brake light switch is depress or bypass. Check for broken or bad connection along circuit. If all good, you could have a trafficator switch problem. Oh, are the hazard and trafficators working in the rear? If they are, the trafficator switch is bad because the brake switch sends power there, then out to the back through the left and right rear trafficator wires.
