I would guess starter fuse first, then starter. When you turn key, if you don't hear a click, you should focus your attention on the fuse first and then the starter. If you hear a click, then most likely (80%) its the starter solenoid. try to start the car in neutral to rule out the neutral safety switch...good luck

Some German cars have anti-theft device inside to make it useless to steal...check at the dealership to see if jumping the battery will activate this(the car thinks its being stolen) .

I've had similar problems with my cars, and everytime it was a bad ground or power wire, or corrosion on the terminals. Get a wire brush and clean both battery connecters..even a little corrosion can cause a no power situation. If you have a test light, connect the ground of the test light to the negative cable of the battery and touch light to the positive cable...if the test light doesn't light up, then you have a break or lose connection in your ground wire. Trace the battery ground to the engine block and clean that also...the smallest thing can interupt power...hope this helps..

I had the same problem last night seems like the ignition is a problem with those cars i called a towing and while i was waiting i kept on trying to start and suddenly it started just as the towing showed up seems like the key is very fragile even just rubbing it on your clothes or even run it tru your hair can **** it up so the car won t recognize the code see your dealer

where are fuses located ?
was there any fuses under the bonnet in relay compartment.
also did any extra wires not get connected to car battery ?
