97 lincoln town car pull dash to replace heater actuator put dash back there was no power on the 16 pin plug, power is on the 8 pin plug, radio was working.

not likely cause is a plugged heater core and really not a diy fixable problem

Hi Joymar, The EATC module is mounted to the heater box under the dash,below the radio,to the right of HVAC controls. access through glove box opening.[remove glove box] look for module with wire & vacuum connections.if you see a linkage arm or rod,those are actuators,follow vacuum lines to control module.an actuator won't cause the fan to run,they control air flow.Automatic temp system modules are known to fail. i've done this and i'm sorry you have to - it's not quick and easy. the dash must be removed. the module sits on top of the heater box. i found a Lincoln shop manual for the 97 town car on ebay that was very helpful with step by step disassembly and some pictures. i'd recommend it for sure.

You can start by not completely removing the dash and most of the components of the dash can stay connected, you will pull dash out a little and then pull away from pass/side and tie up out the way, instead of dissconecting all the dash components like radio heater controls and etc, the steering column can be removed its not hard, unplug connector and the shaft and remove the steering column as a whole, hope this helps.

U have a failed air temperature control electric blend door actuator, to replace this part requires the dash be removed from the car, the part is located on the outside of the heating duct about center of dash.

If this noise is a clicking sound and is coming from the front center of the dash, then it may be the blender door motor which will require removal of the dash to replace it. It will keep the door from switching from heat to a/c. Does the odor smell like you have a freon leak in your a/c evaporator core or does it smell like a rat stuck in your heater and a/c ducts?

Sounds like the heater and a/c blend door actuator. It is located under front center of dash below windshield. Dash must be removed to replace it. I've done it several times.

it is better if you take it to a shop . the entire dash has to come out and be put aside or you'll never get it out of the car sorry .i have done this mant times and that is the easyiest way or you'll find yourself ruining a new heater core

there is an actuator assy in the dash that controls the door for the heat usually they start clicking when going bad the dash has to be pulled back to repair
