1 remove cap from cooling system and run until at operating temp, check for bubbles in cooling system, if bubbles then there is a head gasket failure ( exhaust gases in the system )
2 check cooling fans to see if working, most have a high and low, for under a light or heavy load.
3 could have a water pump that has a failed impeller and not circulating coolant
The noise is the result of air bubbles in the system due to low fluid level, if allowed to continue without repairing the leak the pump will be destroyed.
so we can assume you removed all bubbles by bleeding and no vapor lock in engine.(i assume that you did this when in front of car is raised to collect bubble at highest point)
if done correctly there should not be any bubbles in system. so we can say that your cabin heater core is clogged partially. remove is and clean it. if it cant be done you need a new heater core. to reach it you need to remove some dash panels. dont brake clips when removing dash.
Air in your cooling system, inspect your coolant level and fill to the top with 50/50 mix of Dexcool antifreeze (Orange antifreeze) and water. This would be a good time to flush out your system and replace it with new DexCool antifreeze if it's been in there for more then 5 years.
Left in there over 5 years can cause the coolant to leave crystallized deposit like rust which can cause issue like over heating and gasket failure to the intake manifold. Before draining the old coolant out, add some radiator flush to clean out the. Just follow the instructions on the bottle.
Best also would be to replace the thermostat (195' degrees) and you should have another 5years of trouble free cooling system.
But the first you need to do is top off your coolant to ensure that there is no air in the system. The air will cause a coolant leak which will cause you more money and time.
Thank you for using Fixya and have a safe New Years.
On drivers side, Look for holes in rad support above headlights and you'll see a bubble level. Behind light housing you'll find small hex, or torx head screw just left and behind bubble level area. That's Horizontal adjustment. Now go over to right about 3 " from bubble level, just past where headlight mount is attached and look down hole for another hex, or torx screw head. That's vertical adjustment. Passenger side location will be obvious after finding drivers side adjustments.
1. Check coolant level in radiator/reservoir. Do this with the engine cold. 2. Make sure radiator fins are clean 3. If the above 2 do not fix the problem, replace the thermostat.
