Buick Park Avenue rear suspension pump noise

I have a 96 Park Avenue with Dynaride suspension. Recently the suspension pump has been making a rattling or grinding type noise and the suspension doesn't properly level all the time. Do I need to replace the entire unit or can it be rebuilt ?

You may have to replace it but money wise it is a lot of times cheaper to convert over to standard shock/strut suspension than it is to buy the pump

My 1997 buick park avenue 3.8L is making a noise i guess inside the valve cover like a rattling sound but does not effect my performance yet

Is it full of oil? Lifters will pump down if the engine is low on oil or the pickup screen is clogged.

I have a 96 Park avenue and the dynaride compressor keeps coming on, like it will not hold a charge?

there are little plastic air lines at the side of the rear struts that sometimes leak or come off occasionally.you can see them just behind the top of the rear tires if thats not it check the rest of the air lines for leaks ..If you dont see any chec the little arm thats on the ride height sensor on the passenger side lower control arm at the rear to see if it has become un attached. if thats not it you may have a leaky airbag on the strut.. hope this helps..good luck

There's a small pump looking device under the hood between the air filter and the washer fluid container and this thing keeps coming on. can you tell me what it is?

It is called your Dynaride...it is a pump that supplies air to the rear shocks to keep the vehicle level. Makes sure that there isn't any leaks at the rear shocks, but for the most part this is normal.
