AC dead? Acting strange like a Stephen King novel

My AC is not dead per se... it's just acting weird. It won't blow through the main vents, only in the dash vents up near the windshield. And suddenly the fan in the back seat is making a loud roaring noise (loud like a motorcycle) when I cut the AC on in the back portion of the van. I want to get in there and fix this. I already tore out the back fan and am trying to tweak it into correction, but I don't even know where the main AC terminal would be and I'm not sure why it would suddenly route only to the top vents by the windshield. Anyone got a clue?

Do not interfere with this AC system ,you may be able to change the fan motor but be careful with the AC pipes ,if the pipe cracks and gas escapes it can cause frostbite in about 1 sec flat .Now the most likely cause of the air flow in the front not working correctly is because either its got a split rubber pipe that connects to the operating valves or the diaphram in one of the valves has split which means a replacement operating valve ,if you listen carefully you mey be lucky and hear a hiss somewhere

1999 z71 air conditioning randomly stops blowing

If the air stops blowing from the vents, the problem is with the blower motor. If it doesn't come on, try slapping the motor with your hand. If it starts when slapped, replace the motor.

AC problem

its probably a stuck servo motor on the vent positioning if its automated but if its cable type, maybe the cable is loose.
