Throttle Position Sensor is located on the Throttle Body for the EFI intake. Mark position of old unit and try to match when installing new unit. Should be taken to garage to get proper adjustment of "TPS" at idle if your unsure of yourself.
How To Test and Replace the Throttle Position Sensor TPS P0120
Throttle Position Sensor Replacement
Removal Procedure
Remove the idle air control (IAC) electrical connector (1) from the IAC sensor (4).
Remove the manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor electrical connector from the MAP sensor.
Remove the water pump belt cover.
Remove the TP sensor retaining screws electrical connector (2) from the TP sensor (3).
Remove the TP sensor electrical connector (2) from the TP sensor (3).
Installation Procedure
Install the new O-ring on to the TP sensor.
Connect the TP Sensor electrical connector (2) to the TP sensor (3).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Install the TP sensor (2) on to the throttle body (1).
Tighten
Tighten the TP sensor screws to 2.3 N·m (20 lb in).
Connect the IAC electrical connector (1) to the IAC sensor (4).
Connect the MAP sensor electrical connector to the MAP sensor.
Install the water pump belt and tensioner cover.
Perform the TP Sensor learn procedure:
7.1. Turn the ignition to the RUN/ON position.
7.2. Wait 1 minute.
7.3. Turn the ignition to the LOCK/OFF position.
7.4. Wait 15 seconds.

The most common overheating problem with the Northstar engine is a blocked purge line. It's job is to purge air out of the cooling system.
There is a small diameter hose coming from near the top of the coolant tank, this is the purge line.
With the engine idling, pull the purge line from the tank,if there is no coolant flow from this small hose,it is blocked and this will cause overheating. If the hose is clear, check for blockage at the nipple on the tank.Or trace the hose back until you find the blockage. The hose goes in to the engine to a crossover and comes out the other side to near the thermostat housing, the blockage may be there.

SOURCE: how to change the Throttle positioning sensor TP...
This is a very easy part to change. It has 2 screws and 1 electric connector. One end of the TPS has an elongnated screwhole and the other screwhole is just a hole. At most you may need to use a pair of pliers on the screwdriver to grip the screwdriver better. The screws were put in to stay.
The back of the TPS has a slot which fits on the shaft of the Butterfly flap in the Airhorn. You just fit the slot over the shaft and then everything will be flush to the Airhorn Then tighten the screws, plug in the electric connector and usually you are done. If the idle speed does not seem as high or is higher than before that is what the elongnated screwhole is for. You would loosen both screws and twist the TPS to adjust. There is only slight adjustment possible.
Note: The firing order above is that of a GM northstar block and must be changed for SBC applications, see below
