it will be stamped on a flat surface of the engine , different makers use different positions, it will be below the head as its the engine block that is numbered just have to clean it off and have a good look around , usually on one of the sides , good searching, or contact Peugeot with the rest of the vehicle details

I have a peugeot 406 coupe diesel . The problem is that the diesel additive light will not go out ,even though the local garage have added 2 litres of additive. Is there a fault finding procedure ?

Have your PCM diagnosed. ( a fee applies.) IF you have a check engine light on, obtain the code(s.) This is a free service at most discount parts houses. (e.g. Autozone, Advanced Auto, O'Reilly's, and Pep Boys.) There is no additive required if you have added it already. Do not add more. I believe you have a bad sensor. Let me know, thank you..
