ChangeD thermStat - won't heat up cab
Thermostat could be bad? Not circulating water as much as should. Take radiator cap off when engine is cold and not running....then squeeze the top radiator hose a few times fluid in radiator should bubble up that process is called " burbing" the system to get air out of system. Possible heat system cables not moving as you adjust the heater switch from cold to warm so the duct vent door not moving? Several things could be the problem but definitely can be fixed. Does the temperature gauge on dash go up as suppose to ? to the normal operating range.....does it over heat, get hot temperature wise but still no heat in vehicle? Hope this helps
Check the cables on the heater case for operating properly is this a automatic temperature control? If so there's a square white box under the dash that controls the heater case doors did you feel the hoses are they hot? and if so check the heater hoses that go into the heater core on the firewall if one side is real hot but the other is cooler the core is clogged
SOURCE: my 1995 ford areostar van when heat is on only blows cold air
The aerostar has a vacuum operated watervalve in the heater tubing.the valve is located on the
passenger side inner fender behind the aircleaner.with someone operating the controls inside the van
you can check to see if you get vaccum by removing the tiny hose that goes to the water valve
and checking for suction as you in the van person operates the heater conthttp://www.fixya.com/PostAnswer.aspx?thid=1323651&prdid=696348rols. If you have no
vaccum there is a break in the hose between the intake manifold and the valve. If you do get
vaccum check to see if the valve changes position from vaccum on to vaccum off. you can see
this motion on the small lever on the side of the valve. If the valve lever doesn't move you can
move it manually to allow the water to flow through the heater core. if the valve won't move manually
there is an obstruction in the valve. If it does move manually the vaccum diaphragm is gone.
replace the valve. if it moves to the manual open position you can hold it open with a tywrap.
before you get to this point you should first check to see that there is enough coolant in the
radiator. If you still have no heat you can check the coolant flow through the heater core. to do
this remove both heater hoses from the valve and pump water from a hose into one of the hoses
water should flow from the other hose. If it doesn't the heater core is blocked. The rear heater
operates the same way with the watervalve under the van just behind the drivers seat.
Good luck.
SOURCE: heater is blowing but its cold air not hot air 2000 expedition
Make sure the heater core is in the open position by using the shut off valve and turning it to open. next, you may have a malfunction in the direction door the directs the air flow in the dash. a lever may have become lose or separated. may be a bad servo motor not directing the door to move to the heater position. i would start by checking that shut off valve first on the heater core.
SOURCE: cooling system problem
well it might overheat because air got into system, replace the thermostant and then fill system, run van keepin an eye on the temp, it will start to run hot because coolant has not filled the motor just the radiator, when it starts running hot shut it down, wait 3 minutes and start, now this is done with cap off, after restart coolant should get sucked in get filling radiator as needed, may get messy but got to bleed cooling system. hope thius helps.
SOURCE: rear heater only blows cold air...front of cab
might have dual heater cores rear core might be bad or trying to plug up

Selection lever does not move to AC vent or floor vent only to the defrost. AC compressor does not kick in when AC is selected.
Vacuum level is at 18 instead of 23.
Any suggestions.
It can be issue
with IAC( idle air control valve) causing the problem.
There
are many other possibilities causing these idle issues. Engine idles rough.
There
are few help links with solutions to troubleshoot such idle issues.
